Truck Mechanic Expert

As a Diesel Technician/Mechnic at Penske, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to customers with roadside assistance needs. This role requires the ability to diagnose and repair various maintenance issues on trucks in all weather conditions safely.
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in tractor trailer repair and proficiency in using a range of tools. You must also be willing to drive a Penske Road Assist vehicle equipped with necessary tools and supplies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to road assist calls, identify required parts and warrantable repairs, and document accordingly.
- Perform diagnostics and non-road assist call repairs as needed.
- Restock the rapid assist vehicle with tools, parts, tires, or other necessities for effective road assistance.
- Maintain and perform repairs on the road assist vehicle as required.
- When not on road calls, assist with designated in-shop repairs under supervisor guidance.
- Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance is mandatory.
- Enrollment in an apprentice program is required.
- Ongoing membership/registration with relevant government agencies is necessary.
- Candidates with a 310S license or automotive background may be considered.
- Specialized training in repairing and replacing vehicle components is preferred.
- Proficiency in shop tool use is essential.
- A valid Class 3 or DZ driver's license is required.
- Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems are beneficial.
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments is required.
- Frequent travel within the district for customer sites, close geographical areas, and training sites may be necessary.
This position involves working with safety-sensitive equipment and adhering to strict regulations. Regular attendance and adaptability to varying work environments are crucial.
