About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Therapy Worker to join our interdisciplinary team at Ponderosa in Kamloops, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing our established Recreation Therapy Program, providing engaging and therapeutic activities for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual and group leisure/recreation therapy programs, including arts, socio-cultural events, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises.
  • Set up and organize furnishings and equipment for programs and special events, and ensure resident participation.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, supervisors, and therapists to confirm program details and report any issues or changes.
  • Conduct resident programs outside of the facility, ensuring residents have appropriate clothing and necessary funds for outings.

This relief part-time (0.63 FTE) position offers rotating day shifts, providing flexibility and work-life balance.
