Chef Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at The Diplomat Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
