Laprairie is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Mechanic and 3rd/4th Year Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy equipment fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel and gasoline-powered units.
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless equipment operation and maintenance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulations, and best practices to maintain our high standards.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our equipment and systems to provide expert support.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Trade Certification/Red Seal as an Automotive Mechanic.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Automotive Mechanic.
- Class 5 driver's license at minimum – Class 3 preferred – and a CVIP license.
- Understanding of computer testing technologies.
- Ability to lift heavy machinery.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment.
- Welding and cutting abilities.
- Ability to work after-hours if required.
- Good communication skills.
