Job Title: RPG Programmer for IBM i Modernization

We are seeking an experienced RPG programmer to join our team at IT Unlock Company. As an RPG programmer, you will be responsible for modernizing existing applications using IBM i (AS/400) technology.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will participate in large-scale RPG modernization projects, implementing and adapting current applications for integration and/or new features. You will work closely with our team to ensure timely project delivery and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent our client in a positive manner, conveying an ethical approach to business situations.
  • Ability to take business processing issues and automate them through technology.
  • Understand functionality and identify and write specifications to change or enhance programs or systems.
  • Estimate programming effort involved based on program specifications.
  • Development of test plans, create and coordinate user testing, and ensure that tests meet user requirements.
  • Establish documentation requirements and promote strict adherence.
  • Identify, analyze, and confirm problems and their causes and provide solutions.
  • Write complex batch and inquiry/maintenance programs using RPGIV, RPGLE, DDS, and CL Programming.
  • Effectively produce and communicate status reports to project managers.
Requirements:
  • Sound knowledge of platform utilities.
  • Knowledge of the JD Edwards operating system and familiarity with basic data communication terminology and communication functions.
  • Strong RPG programming coding techniques and database techniques.
