Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labourer to join our team at NorthWest Wood Treaters LP in Prince George, BC. As a Labourer, you will be responsible for wrapping, banding, labeling, counting, and identifying lumber using various lumber handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate lumber handling equipment at various wood stacking machinery.
  • Band and wrap lumber.
  • Occasionally hand pile wood.
  • Service production machines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized yard.
  • Adhere to all work safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to customer service commitments.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to count and identify various lumber products.
  • Experience working in a lumber mill or lumber yard is desirable.
  • Must have own steel-toed boots.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms.
  • Bending, lifting, and reaching during course of shift.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Forklift certification is an asset.
  • Level Three First Aid is an asset.

Employment Status

Education

  • High school graduation preferred
  • Background in Forestry, Wood Processing is an asset
