School Bus Trainer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Bus Trainer to join our team at Durham School Services. As a School Bus Trainer, you will be responsible for training and evaluating school bus drivers to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough driver evaluations to assess their skills and knowledge.
- Develop and deliver training programs to teach school bus drivers about health and safety policies and procedures.
- Train drivers to obtain a Class 2 license with an S endorsement.
- Report to work on time and operate routes in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily using company tools and swipe technology.
- Practice defensive driving at all times and proactively avoid accidents.
- Evacuate buses in emergency situations and assist passengers to evacuate.
- Manage student behavior and report discipline issues to the school and company immediately.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and major or minor defects to the office immediately.
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a valid provincial Class 2-S Driver's License or higher.
- Must have a 2-S Endorsement Instructor's License.
- Must have a clean Drivers Abstract and clear Criminal Background check.
- Previous training experience is an asset but not required.
