Environmental Health and Safety Role

As an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our sustainability initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the EH&S team in identifying and implementing best practices for reduction of waste, water use, and energy consumption.
  • Assist in developing and implementing EH&S training programs and communicating initiatives to employees.
  • Conduct incident investigations, trend analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Collaborate with plant employees, management, and production supervisors to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Attend and actively participate in various committee meetings, including sustainable factory, industrial hygiene, and joint occupational health and safety.

Requirements:

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout the internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where hired.
  • Must be enrolled in the Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering program.

Work Environment:

The EH&S specialist will work as part of a small site-specific team to support environmental and safety initiatives for the site, taking direction from the Plant 41 EH&S team. The role may involve occasional outdoor work and exposure to team and independent tasks.
