Job Title: Director, Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Data Scientist to join our team at Mastercard. As a key member of our Security Solutions Data Science team, you will be responsible for creating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models that power our flagship product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of data scientists in delivering production-quality fraud models that run in real-time to screen transaction networks.
  • Work closely with business owners to understand business requirements and performance metrics regarding data quality and model performance of customer-facing products.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for model building and performance evaluation.
  • Set the roadmap and identify methods and approaches that enhance the performance of existing fraud detection models.
  • Oversee the implementation of models and ensure their deployment in production.
Requirements:
  • Extensive data science experience and significant leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated full lifecycle model development, deployment, and evaluation for complex problems.
  • Experience with SQL language and technologies such as Linux, Bash, Python, and PySpark.
  • At least an undergraduate degree in CS or a related STEM field.
  • Prior experience in payment fraud detection modeling.
  • PhD/Master's in CS, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related STEM field.
