Nursery Labourer Job Description
KS Nurseries Ltd. is seeking a skilled Nursery Labourer to join our team. As a Nursery Labourer, you will be responsible for assisting in the growth and maintenance of plants, trees, and flowers in our nursery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tie and secure plants to prevent damage and promote healthy growth.
- Weeding and pruning to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist in mixing and preparing soils to ensure optimal plant growth.
- Plant bulbs and seeds to promote new growth and development.
- Pot and re-pot plants to maintain a healthy and thriving environment.
- Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to promote growth and development.
- Report signs of insect or disease damage to ensure prompt action is taken.
- Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs to prepare for transplanting.
- Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to ensure optimal growth and development.
- Clean work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements:
- Experience in horticulture or a related field is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
- Physically demanding work requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Attention to detail to ensure quality work.
- Efficient interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
