**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join our Health & Beauty team at Square Inc. As an Android Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the Appointments app on our custom hardware as well as standard Android devices.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Design and develop high-quality Android software with complex server, network, and hardware interactions.
  • Craft intuitive user interfaces that delight our customers with their ease of use.
  • Work collaboratively with a world-class team of experienced and dedicated engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • Deliver features to our growing base of subscribers, shipped at a rapid cadence.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other Android engineers.

**Requirements**

  • 5+ years of Android (or mobile) development experience, and an excellent command of engineering fundamentals.
  • Excitement to continue to grow as an app developer.
  • Commitment to customer experience and product quality.
  • Eagerness to share your own ideas, and openness to those of others.
  • A record of self-directed side projects, research, or open source contributions are a plus.
