Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Linen and Environmental Services (LES) team as a Service Worker I. As a valued member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a quality patient and visitor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients and equipment to and from different patient care areas within the hospital site.
  • Distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units.
  • Clean equipment and patient care areas as directed.
  • Report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Critical thinking, prioritizing requests, and scheduling time as necessary.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, and to work under pressure in emergency situations.
  • Basic proficiency using computers, "rovers" and printers, and familiarity with software platforms, including Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hospital procedures and equipment operation.
  • Previous hospital experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience as a Service Worker I, or related position, in an Emergency Dept.
  • A valid WHMIS certificate is an asset.
  • Experience with Connect Care.
  • Trained in the "Move Safe" ergonomic program and the "It's Your Move" client handling program.
