The Community Inclusion Support Worker plays a key role in establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals supported, encouraging natural support networks and community involvement. This position involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, advocating for their choices, and promoting physical, social, emotional, recreational, economic, educational, and vocational life skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, health, and nutrition.
  • Provide support and advocacy for individuals' choices and needs.
  • Collaborate with relevant organizations, such as MCFD, CLBC, and VIHA.
  • Uphold policies and procedures while modeling the agency's mission, values, and code of ethics.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment, adhering to health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • PREFERRED: Diploma or degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with diverse abilities and promote dignity, independence, and individuality.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-stress environment.
