Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to lead a team of occupational therapists and therapy assistants in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary acute care setting. As the senior therapist, you will be responsible for supporting the team, mentoring and developing staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, be able to advocate for the team, and support their development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of occupational therapists and therapy assistants in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary acute care setting.
  • Support the team, mentor and develop staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up.
  • Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area.
  • Ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
What We Offer:

Along with a variety of career development opportunities, we offer a competitive rate of pay and a Remote Retention Allowance to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
