Job Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist II, you will play a key role in leading a team of occupational therapists and therapy assistants in a fast-paced, dynamic acute care setting. You will be responsible for coordinating occupational therapy and allied health clinical services, providing supervision to students and team members, and making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs. You will also be responsible for ensuring occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate occupational therapy and allied health clinical services within a program or service area
  • Provide supervision to students and team members as assigned
  • Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up
  • Ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines
  • Participate in program development and operational planning
  • Represent the department on committees or programs

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
