Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

At Extendicare, we value teamwork and celebrate achievements to create an environment that allows us to reach our potential. As a valued member of our HCA team, you will provide direct care to residents in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines.

This position is for our Tuxedo Villa Home, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We need only 0.2 EFT's in the Weekend or Casual roles for HCAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support residents in participating in activities of daily living (e.g., dressing, bathing, toileting, personal grooming & mobility);
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and families;
  • Ensure that care is provided according to the person's wishes, preferences, and care plan.

Requirements

  • Completed HCA certification;
  • Demonstrated compassion, accountability, and respect;
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English;
  • Ability to meet the physical and cognitive demands of the job (e.g., bending, lifting, walking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task).
