Job Title: Plasterer

A S Johal Renovations Ltd is seeking a skilled Plasterer to join our team. As a Plasterer, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints, as well as applying, leveling, and smoothing coats of plaster.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster
  • Clean and prepare surfaces
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
