Job Summary:

The Accounting Analyst will work closely with the Controller to compile accurate financial information, analyze data, and facilitate financial reporting to meet internal, external, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze capital, inventory, and sales-related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage the internal capital approval process, including working with cross-functional departments and tracking status.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute accurate financial reports.
  • Lead product traceability under the Recall Plan and Business Continuity.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory variances between QMG and 3rd Party systems.
  • Manage and analyze inventory balance sheet reconciliations for packaging, dry goods, WIP, and FG.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances with shipping and planning teams.
  • Perform Month End reporting for Meat Variance, Dry Goods, and Dry Good Turnover reports.
  • Validate CN/DN and make necessary adjustments in inventory.
  • Manage and update product costing within QMG.
  • Prepare value-added journal entries and related reports for distributed Operational reporting.
  • Populate, analyze, and distribute weekly reports, including Credit Note Reports, Sales Analysis, and Destroyed product reports.
  • Process and investigate destroyed products in QMG.
  • Manage Quarter and Year-end inventory counts, including onsite and travel to 3rd Party warehouses.
  • Provide support for absences with the finance team when necessary.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on diverse initiatives, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
  • Support external audit requirements through the preparation of accurate working papers.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, analysis, and costing.
  • Successful completion of an Accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel, and other Windows Applications.
  • Working knowledge of financial and operational database ERP systems, with experience with AS400 considered an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands through excellent organizational skills and multitasking.
  • Enthusiastic, process-oriented, and self-motivated individual with a strong commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
