Shift Supervisor, Atikokan Sawmill

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our team at our Atikokan Sawmill in Ontario, Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our sawmill and yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide shift supervision and coordination of maintenance activities during daily operations
- Assist with the efficient and safe lumber finishing production, and related scheduling logistics with the assigned workforce
- Ensure the highest safety standards are applied in sawmill and yard operations
- Oversee production sector by maximizing the use of materials, personnel, and equipment to meet or exceed production goals, quality, and financial performance
- Supervise, direct, and guide employees to help them achieve their maximum level of effectiveness
- Work with maintenance supervisors to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of maintenance activities
- Ensure product quality meets customer requirements by performing required inspections and working with Quality Control and Technical Services to develop programs
- Identify, recommend, and/or implement changes to improve production procedures, equipment performance, working conditions, and product quality
- Perform all administrative tasks, including reports on production, maintenance, timesheets, health and safety, performance, training, transfer of personnel, environment, etc.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree, technical diploma, or related industry experience
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience
- Demonstrated progression in leadership roles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, communicate with all levels of the organization, and adapt quickly to change
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Office and solid computer skills
- A self-motivated individual who will work towards Safety & Reliability Excellence
- Good working knowledge of sawmill and planer mill equipment
