Job Summary:

At Churchill Health Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled Dietary Cook-Baker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the dietary needs of patients, employees, and customers are met on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals for patients, employees, and customers in accordance with therapeutic diets and hospital policies.
  • Manage food inventory, ordering, and storage to ensure efficient and safe food service operations.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Support Services to develop and implement menus and meal plans that meet the dietary needs of our clients.
  • Ensure a clean and safe food service environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer feedback and concerns.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a recognized food preparation program.
  • Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting and in a dietary/food service setting.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and WHMIS certification.

Physical Demands:

  • Bending and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of sharp tools such as knives and industrial equipment.
  • Long periods of time standing during each shift.
  • Exposure to different chemicals.
