About the Role:

AECOM is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Specialist to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identify discrepancies in results.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with little supervision.
  • Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with geotechnical investigation, reporting, analysis such as deep foundations and tunnel design.
  • 4+ years of related experience strongly preferred.
  • Geotechnical Engineering Master's Degree.
  • Site Investigation and field work.
  • Numerical Modelling
  • Proficiency in:
  • PLAXIS, FLAC, LPILE, GeoStudio.
  • Registered with APEGA as an EIT, eligible to get P.ENG certification within a year.
  • P. Eng in Alberta
