About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly skilled Factory Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Stoney Creek power transformer repair shop. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facility, including production, project management, and production scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  2. Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of production staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  3. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  4. Capacity Growth and Development: Identify opportunities for growth and develop strategies to increase capacity, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  5. Quality and Safety: Ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe and healthy environment, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  6. Business Development: Collaborate with the business development team to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them.
  7. Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish and track key performance metrics, providing regular reports to management on operational performance.

Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or business.
  2. Experience: Proven experience in a leadership role, with a strong background in operations management, project management, and team leadership.
  3. Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of production staff.
  4. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of production management, project management, and quality control principles.
  5. Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing, are an asset.
