Elevator Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Elevator Mechanic to join our team at Abco Elevator Inc. As an Elevator Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevator systems.
Key Responsibilities- Installation and Maintenance: Install and wire electric and electronic control system devices, ensuring that all equipment is properly configured and functioning as expected.
- Training and Development: Instruct apprentices on the proper techniques and procedures for elevator maintenance and repair.
- Quality Control: Test operation of newly installed equipment, identify and troubleshoot any issues, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair and Maintenance: Disassemble defective units, repair or replace suspect parts, and adjust valves, ratchets, seals, brake linings, and other components as needed.
- Preventative Maintenance: Carry out preventative maintenance programs to ensure public safety, including regular inspections and maintenance of elevator systems.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures, identifying and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Record Keeping: Maintain log books that detail all repairs and checks performed, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks, including criminal record checks and driver's validity license checks.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 5 years or more of experience in elevator maintenance and repair.
- Physical Demands: Physically demanding, requiring the ability to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Work Environment: Overtime required, with a 32-hour workweek.
