Sales and Service Representative

Job Summary:
MRC Global is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused professional to join our team as a Sales and Service Representative. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and ensuring seamless branch operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries, develop new accounts, and generate quotes using our database.
- Maximize gross margin sales through careful analysis during the quote process.
- Identify and act on opportunities to increase market share by growing sales.
- Provide product information, delivery specifications, and payment terms to customers.
- Assist outside sales and/or branch management in processing priority transactions.
- Work with customers to understand their business needs and provide value-added recommendations to increase sales.
- Enter and maintain purchase orders, customer orders, and trade discounts as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to set up and maintain accurate customer files.
- Maintain quality standards and establish customer relationships.
- Communicate with customers and coworkers to provide technical information.
- Participate in meetings and training opportunities to enhance personal and product knowledge.
- Monitor expected ship dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
- Provide prompt responses to internal and external customer inquiries.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and additional post-secondary training or education.
- Two or more years of experience in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services with increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.
- Ability to communicate and promote ideas to others.
- Valid Driver's license with the ability to meet MRC Global's vehicle policy.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
- Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently.
- Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global's guidelines and expectations.
