About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sprinkler Fitter to join our team at Fire-Tech Sprinklers Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing sprinkler systems to ensure the safety of our clients and their properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule materials, tools, and personnel to ensure efficient project completion
  • Instruct apprentices in the installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems
  • Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment
  • Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler and fire protection equipment
  • Service and repair sprinkler systems, including testing for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings, and flush systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Cut openings for pipes in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems to ensure continued safety and efficiency
  • Select the type and size of pipe required for each project
  • Test systems for leaks using testing equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation and maintenance
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in sprinkler system installation and maintenance
  • Ability to work at heights, in wet/damp environments, and in noisy conditions
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding environments
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Hand-eye coordination and ability to work with hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driver's validity check
