Strategic Philanthropy Director for Growth and Development

Job Overview
VON Canada is a leading provider of community care services, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Corporate and Executive Communications to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in driving the organization's growth and development by developing and implementing strategic plans to increase fundraising revenue at the annual and mid-level giving levels.
About the Role
This key position will provide leadership and direction to the philanthropy team, focusing on centralized direct response programs and data management. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in fund development, including minimum ten (10) years of fundraising management experience and five (5) years of managing others.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and Implements Strategic Plans: Develops, implements, and continually evaluates the centralized direct response program's performance, in support of VON's strategic priorities.
- Ledership and Direction: Provides leadership and direction to the Manager Philanthropy and Fund Development Database Coordinators in successful execution of fundraising activities and accurate gift receipting and data management.
- Evidence-Based Decision Making: Uses evidence-based, data-driven decision making to inform strategies for the centralized direct response program, acquisition, and digital campaigns to increase overall fundraising revenue at the annual and mid-level giving levels.
- Budget Management: Manages the annual direct response program budget, tracks revenue targets, and reports on results.
- Data Management: Manages the data management system (Raiser's Edge) to ensure the accurate and timely recording and reporting of data.
- Communication and Collaboration: Promotes the strategy of VON and their role as an integrated community care provider to all stakeholders and staff.
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Degree: Post-secondary degree in a relevant field of study.
- Fundraising Experience: Minimum ten (10) years of fundraising management experience, including five (5) years of managing others.
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE): Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation an asset.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated skillsets in leadership, and team building.
- Technology Proficiency: Highly proficient user of a fundraising database (Raiser's Edge preferable).
- Language Skills: Ability to speak French is an asset in French Designated areas.
