We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Worker to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an Environmental Services Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning all units as assigned, including patient rooms and public areas. This will involve:
- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization in patient rooms and public areas
- Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, equipment, and furniture
- Operating specialized cleaning equipment, such as Taski spray buffers and auto scrubbers
- Assisting with the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment by reporting any hazards or concerns to management
In addition to these responsibilities, the Environmental Services Worker will also be expected to:
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless and efficient cleaning process
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure their needs are met
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures
We are looking for a candidate who is committed to providing exceptional customer service and is able to work independently with minimal supervision. About YouWe are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Grade 12 or equivalent work experience
- Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Travel to other sites may be required; access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred

HoursThis is a casual relief position, with hours varying depending on the needs of the department.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $19.26-$20.02, depending on experience.
