This internship provides a unique opportunity to work alongside recognized industry experts on real-world assignments directly related to your field of study. You will have the chance to ask questions, get involved, bring your ideas, and be part of an actual project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and developing specialized tools, jigs, and fixtures for the manufacturing and assembly of aerospace components and systems
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers to understand specific manufacturing requirements and constraints
  • Participate in feasibility studies and provide recommendations for tooling solutions that enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed tool designs, including 3D models, drawings, and specifications
  • Join design reviews with cross-functional teams to ensure tool designs meet project requirements and standards

The salary for this position is estimated at $32.00 per hour, commensurate with the level of the position. Sierra Space offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 8%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.

  • Students must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior undergraduate student or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. Program
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

  • Strong organization skills and work ethic; detail oriented
