We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. The successful candidate will provide professional nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. The LPN will work under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager and will be responsible for administering prescribed medical treatments, leading the healthcare team, and facilitating patient care coordination. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in Licensed Practical Nursing and will be registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba. They will also have a current Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate and will be proficient in computer software programs. The LPN will work in a demanding and stressful environment and will be required to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients. They will also be responsible for communicating effectively with members of the healthcare team and will provide leadership and contribute to a respectful workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba and will be required to complete the AORN Periop 101 online course if they do not have previous operating room training or experience. The LPN will work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment that supports quality services, quality improvement, and staff empowerment. They will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive working relationships and will be required to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the facility/program and will be able to recognize and assume responsibility for their own professional growth, development, competency, and self-development opportunities. The LPN will work in a moderate to heavy physical effort environment and will be required to perform independently and as a member of the healthcare team. They will also be responsible for adapting quickly to changing situations and will be required to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred for a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
