Build a Career in Construction Estimating
PCL Construction is seeking an Estimating Student to join our team in the BC Region district - Kelowna Office. As an Estimating Student, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that promotes personal and professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Review and utilize PCL's estimating manuals, systems, and forms to perform quantity surveys and estimate construction projects.
- Collaborate with lead estimators and chief estimators to review quantity survey assignments and provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department.
- Transfer quantities to lead estimators and perform general subtrade solicitation duties, including bid document control and bid day assignments.
- Develop relationships with subcontractors and visit job sites periodically to ensure project progress.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting, is required.
