Job Title: Automation Specialist

Westburne, a division of Rexel Canada Electrical Inc., is a leading electrical product distributor serving the commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional markets across Canada.

We are seeking an Automation Sales Specialist to support our geographical territory of British Columbia, based out of Prince George, BC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sales performance of their product discipline within the assigned territory, providing in-depth technical and application knowledge to both internal and external customers.

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an annual strategic business plan for sales development.
  • Manage an opportunity funnel to achieve sales objectives.
  • Pursue and develop new business opportunities.
  • Lead complex initiatives providing value to stakeholders.
  • Design and implement a Lifecycle Services journey to uncover customer needs.
  • Support Westburne and Rockwell Automation sales representatives with account planning and execution.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical solutions to customers as a pre-sale consultant.
  • Facilitate post-sale technical support programs to build customer competency.
  • Conduct presentations and product updates.
  • Develop domain expertise around Services business and maintain specialized product and application knowledge.
  • Attend supplier partner training to stay up-to-date on product and application knowledge.

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Understand market conditions and competitive forces, analyze market share, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop and execute commercial activities as part of an annual strategic business plan.
  • Implement strategies to address competition and expand market penetration using available marketing tools.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical/Electronic/Automation Technology diploma or degree from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 2+ years previous experience in automation or technical product sales/support.
  • Desired skills: sales principles, proactive, engaging, self-motivated, results-oriented, time management, organizational, problem-solving, written/verbal business communication, presentation skills, Microsoft Office suite, technical understanding of industrial automation systems, and manufacturing business drivers.
