Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled TM1/Planning Analytics Developer to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Global Finance Team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, scalable, and efficient TM1/Planning Analytics Solutions across various areas of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex TM1/Planning Analytics models, cubes, dimensions, and hierarchies within an iterative development environment.
- Develop and support advanced TI Processes and Cube Rules.
- Design and develop dynamic Planning Analytics User Interfaces in PAW and PASS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that accelerate cycle times and eliminate cumbersome manual processes.
- Ensure that technical software development processes are followed on projects, adhering to industry best practices for software development.
- Adapt and work effectively with team members of various experience levels.
- Ensure the operating efficiency of existing application systems, maintaining records for documentation of systems development and revisions.
- Conduct analyses of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in model building with industry-leading EPM technologies (TM1, Anaplan, Oracle Hyperion, OneStream, Adaptive Planning, etc.).
- Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and Google spreadsheet financial modeling.
- Hands-on experience with financial processes, Financial Planning and Analysis, Forecasting, Cost Allocations, Financial Consolidation, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of multi-dimensionality, Hierarchies, Cubes, Turbo Integrator processes, Cube Rules, and Feeders, Active Forms & Websheets, MDX.
- Knowledge of Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) and Planning Analytics for Excel (PAFE).
- Ability to apply innovation and advanced technical expertise to find solutions for complex business requirements within the functionality of Planning Analytics product set.
- Strong problem-solving, design, and analytical skills, with out-of-the-box thinking to develop creative solutions.
- Experience working with large data sets of finance and experience in parallel processing implementation to optimize performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Finance Transformation-related projects.
- Experience with Python, TM1Py, REST API, VBA, Java,.NET.
- IBM Planning Analytics (Cognos TM1) Certification.
- Business knowledge of finance and/or accounting principles is a plus.
