Emergency Medicine Physician

The Saanich Peninsula Hospital's department of Emergency Medicine invites applications for a Physician to join their team.
The hospital is a 65 bed acute care community hospital with an 18 bed emergency department that cares for 31,000 patients per year. The ED is staffed by a dedicated group of emergency physicians with progressive and collegial work environment. The hospital is the primary referral hospital for the Southern Gulf Islands, and the ED is staffed by a mix of full-time and part-time physicians.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a single coverage department without on-site Respiratory Therapy or ICU support. The hospital offers a range of medical services, including laboratory services 24/7 and medical imaging with a CT scanner operating daily. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in teaching and research opportunities through the University of British Columbia's Island Medical Program.
To be successful in this role, the candidate must hold CCFP-EM or FRCPC Emergency Medicine certification and be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. The group is actively seeking candidates with community hospital ED experience and flexibility in scheduling.
