Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Contents Technician to join our team at BELFOR. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling personal property in residential and commercial settings, working under supervision and independently as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Packing, loading, and transporting personal property
  • Disassembling and reassembling items
  • Providing mitigation services, including dry and wet cleaning
  • Inventorying and maintaining chain of custody
  • Deodorizing and ambient air filtration
  • Cleaning and laundering items
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participating in vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
  • Maintaining vehicles in clean, serviceable condition
  • Constructing polyethylene enclosures
  • Removing and disposing of debris
  • Setting and maintaining equipment
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of restoration industry best practices, including restoration following fire and water losses, degradation factors, and decontamination
  • Familiarity with chemical cleaning products and Safety Data Sheets
  • IICRC certification (Fire and Smoke and/or Odour Control and/or Water Damage) preferred
  • Recognition of common objects and materials
  • Construction/Restoration/Insurance experience preferred
Physical Demands
  • Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted
  • Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted
  • Access and mobility in tight spaces
  • Fit Testing – half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required
  • Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
