Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Propak. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive electrical design services for our oil and gas processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical design criteria and specifications for projects
  • Supervise and provide technical direction to electrical design and drafting staff
  • Review and approve electrical equipment specifications and data sheets
  • Prepare electrical project schedules and progress reports
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of electrical design throughout projects
  • Coordinate project requirements with project team members
  • Participate in the development of operation, maintenance, and start-up philosophies
  • Review design criteria and documents for the detailed design of power and control distribution systems
  • Perform engineering calculations and generate electrical construction work package documents
  • Support and assist the electrical project team in design of equipment layouts, area classification, grounding, motor control schematics, cable schedules, electric heat tracing, etc.
  • Provide field construction support, commissioning, and start-up of facilities
Requirements
  • 10+ years of directly related experience in electrical design of oil and gas processing facilities
  • Experience within an EPC and EPCM work environment
  • Background in ETAP power system modeling and analysis and plant layout
  • Knowledgeable of Canadian Electrical Code
  • Knowledgeable of federal/provincial safety policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to meet objectives while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Use of appropriate theoretical and practical engineering principles to solve technical problems
Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with usual weekday office hours. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines. The employee is required to attend meetings at other buildings and may involve occasional project site visits, often with little notice.

The employee is required to wear company-standard PPE when entering fabrication shops, yards, and project sites. Project site PPE includes CSA approved steel-toed boots and long pants. Walking on uneven ground is to be expected in yards and at project sites.
