At Lafarge, we are committed to delivering high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Machinery Technician to join our team in Woodstock, Ontario.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely installing and maintaining machinery and supporting structures according to manufacturer's specifications. This will involve working with a variety of equipment, including pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, and generators. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Health and Safety principles and protocols.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Promote a positive safety culture through leadership by example;
  • Perform all work activities following relevant safety policies/procedures ensuring alignment with the company's vision and critical success factors;
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment;
  • Troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls;
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up and repair of machinery;
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions;
  • Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance work on machinery as part of the PM program.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a slag/grinding/cement manufacturing environment;
  • Industrial Mechanic Millwright certification from the college of trades or interprovincial red seal certification;
  • Good welding skills and ability to utilize various welding and cutting equipment;
  • Problem solving, technical, creative, organized, and motivated skills.
