Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver with experience in flatbed trucking to join our team at Varsteel Ltd. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate a tractor-trailer to transport goods across the country, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and Unload: Load and unload goods from the trailer, ensuring that all items are properly secured and accounted for.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the vehicle, including checking tire pressure, oil levels, and brakes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shipments, including bills of lading, driver logs, and inspection reports.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in flatbed trucking
  • Certifications: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Skills: Professionalism in customer service, load and unload goods, oversee vehicle condition, pay and receive payments for goods, perform preventive maintenance

Work Environment

As a Truck Driver with Varsteel Ltd., you will be working in a fast-paced logistics environment. You will be required to work 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime. You will be working in a physically demanding environment, requiring you to lift and move heavy objects.
