Job Title: Cement Finisher

Job Summary:

Skyscraper Construction and Cement Finishing Ltd. is seeking a skilled cement finisher to join our team. As a cement finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finished surfaces on our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials to ensure they meet the required standards
  • Direct the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to the specified grade
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth finish
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure it reaches the required density
  • Level the top surface of concrete according to the specified grade and depth
  • Work at heights, using scaffolding or swing stages, to apply the desired finish to concrete surfaces
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures to ensure a secure and stable structure
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and protect them from the elements
  • Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces to their original condition
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to maintain their integrity
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure that all work is done according to plan

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • The job requires working in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods
  • The worker must be able to bend, crouch, and kneel to access all areas of the construction site
  • Attention to detail is essential to ensure that all work is done to the highest quality standards

Requirements:

  • Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles are required for safe working conditions
  • The worker must be able to communicate effectively with the team and management
  • Previous experience in the field of cement finishing is an asset
