Cement Finisher Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cement Finisher to join our team at Skyscraper Construction and Cement Finishing Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cement finishing and a solid understanding of concrete surface preparation and finishing techniques.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and finish concrete surfaces to a high standard, using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade and depth specifications.
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement, using a variety of techniques and tools.
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, such as trowels, floats, and edgers.
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures, ensuring they are securely fastened and meet specifications.
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces, using a variety of techniques and products.
  • Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces, using a range of materials and techniques.
  • Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures, using a variety of methods and tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.


Requirements:


  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field of employment.
  • Able to work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and in dusty, noisy, and outdoors environments.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
  • Accurate, client-focused, and a team player, with excellent attention to detail and physical stamina.
  • Able to work a 40-hour week, with flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and priorities.
