Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at DNV. As a key member of our Electrical Engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our renewable energy projects.

About the Role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting business development activities in North America, demonstrating expertise and engaging in authentic discussions with DNV's key accounts and customers. You will identify opportunities to offer value-added services to customers and develop thought leadership through committee engagements, conference attendance, and creating webinars, whitepapers, and blog posts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support business development activities in North America, demonstrating expertise and engaging in authentic discussions with DNV's key accounts and customers.
  • Develop thought leadership through committee engagements, conference attendance, and creating webinars, whitepapers, and blog posts.
  • Act as a collaborative project manager on electrical engineering projects, authoring and/or reviewing technical reports alongside internal teams.
  • Perform or review power system studies, including grounding, reactive power, and cable ampacity using computer software and other methods.
  • Review electrical designs and interconnection contracts and studies for wind, offshore wind, solar, and storage projects.
  • Provide training in electrical safety and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience directly working on renewable energy projects.
  • Strong writing and communication skills for report writing and communication of technical concepts to internal and external clients.
  • Willingness to participate in 5-10% domestic travel (US and Canada).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing electrical power systems studies.
  • OSHA 10 hour or equivalent.
