Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Heidelberg Materials in Vancouver, BC.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment on our site to ensure smooth operation. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, and replace mechanical systems and associated equipment to prevent downtime and ensure efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and address them promptly.
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities, responding quickly to malfunctions and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Anticipate problems and identify opportunities for improvement, collaborating with colleagues to implement solutions.
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work on all site mechanical equipment, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
  • Consult manufacturers' manuals to determine maintenance procedures and optimize performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience working in heavy industrial/manufacturing environments, preferably with a Red Seal Millwright ticket or equivalent certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including the ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficient computer skills, with experience using software related to maintenance management and inventory control.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy loads (up to 75+ lbs), as well as work in various weather conditions and at elevated heights.
What We Offer

A competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
