Job Title: Calgary Police Service Technician

Are you passionate about working with your hands and troubleshooting complex systems? Do you have a strong background in automotive electronics and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a skilled Calgary Police Service Technician to join our team

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, test, and repair emergency equipment in Calgary Police Service vehicles, including master communication controllers, emergency lights, sirens, and in-car digital video systems.
  • Collaborate with other Fleet Services employees to install and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, non-electrical, and electronic issues with equipment installed on marked and unmarked police vehicles.
  • Work within an automotive facility with potential exposure to vehicle exhaust, fluids, and other chemicals.
Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent GED and a minimum of 1 year automotive related experience.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing domestic and/or import light duty vehicles is required.
  • Above average working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including creating complex wiring looms and integrating into factory wiring and controllers.
  • Previous experience working directly with the installation of specialty equipment, including emergency lighting, communication radios, and other police equipment is required.
  • A valid Full Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) and a Driving Abstract with no more than 6 demerit points (current within 3 months) and no current suspensions or charges pending.
