Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring the development, implementation, and maintenance of all quality assurance and regulatory programs within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and direction to the QA team.
- Collaborate with plant operations, sales, and product development teams to ensure new products meet specifications.
- Maintain documentation and identify trends to ensure proper corrective actions and preventive measures are established.
- Effectively train employees on quality, regulatory, and food safety procedures and policies.
- Accountable for preparation and participation in internal and external audits.
Requirements:
- Degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three to five years of proven food safety experience in a Quality Assurance leadership capacity.
- Primary poultry experience preferred; MPIP certification would be an asset.
- HACCP Certification and strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Good Manufacturing Practices, Regulatory, and GFSI standards.
- Thorough understanding of microbiology as it relates to food.
