About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Project Manager to join our Toronto district office. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering complex civil projects and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project safety programs, fostering a culture of safety and mentorship.
  • Lead the pursuit of new business opportunities through estimates, collaboration with trade contractors, and proposal development.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of quality management plans, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and a culture of quality.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, providing value engineering proposals for cost, schedule, and functionality benefits.
  • Monitor project performance, including safety, cost forecasts, and schedules.
  • Manage project teams, client representatives, consultants, and trade contractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assist in the development of comprehensive design-management and design-quality plans, conducting periodic quality audits to ensure compliance.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of project opportunities and challenges, managing expectations through effective communication.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive construction experience, with multiple contract delivery types and leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in estimating civil and infrastructure projects, as well as managing civil-related structures and transit projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing a strong safety culture, applying health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including budget and schedule management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
