Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Production Planner to join our innovative team in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. As a Production Planner, you will play a critical role in supporting the manufacturing operations team in executing manufacturing project commitments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule production processes, including work-in-progress production updates, fabrication completion, and delivery updates.
  • Assist production leaders in creating and instructing credible production plans and schedules that balance available capacity and resources.
  • Ensure work-in-progress is progressing through the production sequence.
  • Prepare transportation documentation packages according to regulatory requirements.
  • Support logistics planning for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Plan and manage inventory for work-in-progress, including surplus and excess inventory.
  • Timely release of internal deliverables to support production activities dependent on appropriate documents to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement activities for planning, control, inventory, production, and delivery lead times.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in a project-based manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in production planning and control.
  • Proficient with scheduling software, including MS Project (P6 an asset).
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
  • Load and capacity planning.
  • Inventory planning.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information to others.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints/drawings and schematics.
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in a related field (Business Admin, Technical, etc.).
  • SAP knowledge and experience an asset.
