Job Title: Casual Waste Facility Labourer

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Casual Waste Facility Labourer. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will provide general labour services to our landfill and assist in carrying out municipal services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general labour services to the landfill, including garbage removal, operating the compactor, and cleaning/sorting of landfill waste.
  • Assist in carrying out municipal services, including maintenance checks on equipment, maintaining and repairing fencing, and snow and ice removal.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Perform duties safely and efficiently, with a focus on customer service and quality workmanship.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Class 3 Driver's License.
  • Confident in reading and writing reports and other documents.
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Ability to follow directions and instructions.

Assets:

  • Knowledge and/or experience with WHMIS.
  • Ability to speak Inuktitut and/or French.
  • Experience working for a municipality.
