Job Summary:

The City of Iqaluit is seeking a reliable and physically fit Labourer to join our Public Works team. As a Labourer, you will be responsible for providing general labourer services, carrying out municipal services within the Department of Public Works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general labourer services, including water delivery, garbage removal, waste removal, utilidor services, road crew assistance, and landfill services.
  • Work under the direction of the Public Works Foreman to ensure efficient and safe completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operation of services.
  • Perform duties in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.

Requirements:

  • Reliability and punctuality are essential for this role.
  • Physical fitness is required to perform tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team environment.
  • Previous experience working in a municipality is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut is an asset.
