About the Role

Safran Cabin is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Technician to join our team. As a CNC Machinist Technician, you will be responsible for operating numerical-control cutting machines of Milling and 3 Axis Router.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate numerical-control cutting machines of Milling & 3 Axis Router.
  • Reads setup instructions and specifications, loads control media containing programmed commands into control console of machine, or enters commands to retrieve programmed control data.
  • Adheres to company and customer specifications, work instructions, engineering prints and work orders.
  • Documents the materials and processes used in the process to maintain traceability of product.
  • Operates CNC machines of Milling and 3 Axis Router.
  • Loads programs into CNC machine and execute program cutting of the material.
  • Cuts raw stock to approximate size necessary for part being machined.
  • Secures and fixture raw stock of material into machine.
  • Squares material prior to running program if necessary.
  • Monitors the operating of the machine to ensure proper program performance.
  • Deburs completed machine parts as time allows.
  • Provides feedback to supervisor and programmer as to the performance of the program and tooling used for cutting the material.
  • Verifies the accuracy of the parts using calipers, micrometers and other metrology equipment as a periphery inspection and report any suspect parts immediately to supervisor.
  • Ensures machine is in proper working order and immediately report any issues or suspect of issues to supervisor.
  • Ensures machine and area around machine is kept clean and neat as practical and mandatory prior to ending of shift.
  • Properly maintains coolant as necessary, including removal of containments, proper dilution ratio and cleaning and recharging machine of coolant when necessary or when requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Degree or diploma from technical/vocational school in CNC machining is strongly desired and most preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience.
  • Familiarity of the basic operation of CNC machines of Milling and 3 Axis Router and the understanding of G and M code is preferred or the ability to learn is mandatory.
  • The ability to read and write in English at a level necessary for successful job performance is mandatory and the ability to read engineering blue prints is desirable.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Safran Cabin offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
