Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Lead to join our team at Hydro One Networks Inc. as a key member of our Environmental Services department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing expert advice to project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage environmental projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant environmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and project stakeholders.
  • Environmental Planning: Develop and implement environmental plans, including environmental assessments, impact statements, and mitigation measures.
  • Contract Management: Manage contracts with environmental consultants, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit reports, including environmental study reports, and maintain accurate records of project activities.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
Requirements
  • Education: Four-year university degree in environmental studies, planning, natural sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum six to eight years of relevant work experience in environmental planning, environmental management, natural heritage, cultural heritage/archaeology, permitting, contract management, and monitoring.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and procedures; excellent project management and leadership skills; effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Travel Expectations

This role may require travel to project sites throughout Ontario, with occasional overnight stays. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
