Aquatic Program Coordinator Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatic Program Coordinator to join our team at the City of Port Coquitlam. As an Aquatic Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading aquatic programs and services, ensuring the safety of patrons, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and instruct aquatic programs and services for various age groups and community groups, including those with special needs.
  • Perform lifeguard duties, ensuring the safety of patrons and supervising the use of aquatic facilities.
  • Prevent accidents and injuries, and provide effective first aid treatment and follow-up as needed.
  • Prepare and implement individual program plans for review by a supervisor.
  • Perform basic cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • NLS – Pool Option certification.
  • CPR Level C certification.
  • Standard First Aid certification.
  • Water Safety Instructor certification.
  • Sound knowledge of lifesaving, artificial respiration, aquatic emergency procedures, and first aid.
  • Working knowledge of teaching methods and group leadership techniques.
  • Some knowledge of pool chemistry, water filtration, chlorination, and related pool equipment and procedures.
